Maribeth Boelts is a former preschool teacher who has written numerous books for children. She lives in Iowa with her husband and three children.
Noah Z. Jones is the illustrator of NOT NORMAN: A GOLDFISH STORY, THE MONSTER IN THE BACKPACK, and WELCOME TO THE BED AND BISCUIT. He lives in Maine.

Every family should have this book

What a great story. Coming from a poor family and being significantly smaller than other children my age, almost all my clothes & shoes were hand me downs from friends and were often a little childish for my liking. I was Jeremy in this story. I was choked up holding back tears. Tears of sympathy and then of pride for this young boy. Enjoyable story with some great messages. Excellent conversation with my 4 year old. Highly recommended!

Wonderful book

I am a school social worker for an elementary school. The kids love this book. They can relate to it. I use it to teach them to be considerate and mindful about the economic situations of others that may not be as fortunate. It also has a very powerful message at the end that teaches children about selflessly giving to others.

Great lesson of finding satisfaction through sharing for kids.

This is a great book. My boys ask to have it read to them at least once a week. The pictures are nice and bright and colorful. I like that it shoes them that fads are fleeting and illogical. This kid received just what he needed - the boots - and over the course of the story, those proved to make him happy. His sharing the shoes that didn't fit with his friend who needed them, also made both him and his friend happy.
